Device description:

The smoke generator, also known as a leak detector, is used to locate leaks in vehicle piping systems. Its operation is based on the evaporation of a special smoke liquid in a sealed evaporator chamber using a heating element (TEN), and then a regulated supply of smoke through a built-in compressor via a hose to the tested system. The most common application is locating air intake points in the intake manifold. The device can be used to test various systems, such as cooling, lubrication, fuel supply, and others.

SLD-501 Turbo – designed for various vehicle systems with turbocharged and atmospheric engines.

Note: do not use the SLD-501 TURBO model to test the EVAP system, as it may cause damage.

Smoke generator capabilities:

The device allows detecting damages such as: cracks, damaged or worn seals, oil seals, hoses, loose connections, weakened clamps, etc. It is equipped with a built-in compressor that provides a flow of up to 10 l/min. The generator also allows detecting holes smaller than 0.2 mm using a special fluorescent liquid and UV light (optional).

Leak detection can be monitored through readings from the manometer and flow meter, or by the appearance of smoke at the leak site.
