Purpose: quick and precise measurement of internal linear dimensions (holes, slots, grooves) — wherever a ruler or gauge cannot ensure sufficient accuracy.

Measurement is performed by two spherical, spring-loaded ends positioned at 180°; once inserted into the hole, the position is locked with a knurled screw, and the value is read using an external micrometer or caliper.
